Living is Winning campaign in France
October 12, 2017
The campaign “Living is Winning” pays tribute to refugees who conquer their right to live with courage and tenacity. The journey of many refugees is a heroic physical feat. I contributed with three images for the campaign in France.
In the aftermath of the announcement of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, La Cimade launched the campaign “Living is Winning” #LivingIsWinning to restore dignity to refugees who every day are forced to deploy courage and strength to find a land where they are welcomed.
Thousands of women, men and children are forced by war, repression and misery to flee their country. They are forced to cross the seas, to cross walls and deserts, and on the frontiers of Europe, they are repulsed, shut up, and violated. 3,090 kilometers separate Aleppo from Munich, the route most borrowed by tens of thousands of Syrians and Syrians fleeing the war that ravaged their country. This distance is equivalent to 73.6 Olympic marathons. See the films made for the campaign here.
