1st place in Sony World Photography Awards
April 22, 2016
On Thursday I was awarded 1st place in the Daily Life category in the Sony World Photography Awards during a ceremony in London with the story “The Curse of Coal”. Part of the work is also exhibited at the Somerset House in central London. More than 230.000 images was submitted for the World Photography Awards.
The story is part of the long-term project Hard.Land, where I together with writer Roy F. Andersen has been traveling the Rust Belt of the US, to document the life of the working class and middle class.
