The night between the 21st and 22nd of June, the pople of Latvia is celebrating the shortest night of the year, the midsummer. This night, they are turning away from Christianity and worships the pagans Gods.
Around 01.00 in the midle of the night, the crowd sets fire on a wodden fleet. They carry the fleet to a small lake. Here the men undresses, and brings the fleet into the water. They also carry with them torches. The fire is a symbol of the sun.
